It is being reported that ron artest has been signed by the lakers for l believe 3 years but it could also be 5 years and l think for 18m.

Although we did lose Trevour Ariza to Huston.

artest is the best man to man defender in the NBA. Kobe wo not have to guard bigger Guards-forwards like Melo or Lebron, that is Artests job.

Ron Ron will make Kobe is life easier.

l think it will clog their offense up a bit but if Artest actually makes the choice to not huck up awkward shots he could be a VERY valuable piece in a repeat.

1. Depends on whether or not Artest becomes a team player.

2. He will have a great season, he is one of the only good players on that team seeing as Yao and Tracy McGrady are out. He will average above 15 ppg.

3. l see it working out eventually.

Look at it this way, the reason Ron took all those shots, is because T-Mac was out, and Yao was almost always doubled. He wo not do that here. Ariza wont have as much of an impact, he can not create his own shot. And Ron and Kobe are longtime friends. Kobe was pushing for him to come to LA. As for the championship, its always a possibility, for everyone.

artest is a good player on offense and defense..i think he has improved a lot as a player too .

l see ron artest playing alot smoother with the lakers cuz he doesnt have to work as hard as he did with the rockets.

BQ2:i honestly dont see him doing as well with houston.this isnt a knock on ariza, but his offense relied on kobe & gasol setting up easy shots for him.i see his points going up, but his % going down

BQ3:yes becuz they have been very good friends for a long time.they appeared on best damn & talked about their long time friendship a couple years back

l am a Lakers fan & am sad to see Trevor Ariza leave the team. l had almost no doubt that he would return,e ven after heaing that he rejected the Lakers first offer. everyone rejects the frst offer. but once l heard the Lakers r going tosign Artest on the 8th (signing day for all free agents) then l knew (we all knew) Ariza was gone. l wish Ariza the best but l am also excited to see how Artest will do in LA.

1BQ: As much as l am a Lakers fan l think San Antonio r the favorites to win the next championship. look at what they have for a potential starting line up. Duncan (C), Gooden (PF), Jefferson (SF), Ginobili (SG), Parker (PG). maybe Bonner will start at C with Duncan at PF & Gooden off the bench, but still. Duncan, Jefferson, Ginobili & Parker r all capable of scoring 20+ points per game. even Gooden can do 20+ on a good day. recently we have seen the Spurs as a low scoring but high defensive team. now l think they will be a high defensive & high scoring team. they r a very well rounded team next season. l actually thought this once Jefferson was traded to the Spurs, well before Ariza agreed to sign with Houston

2BQ: l think Ariza can become the face of that team, especially for next season. no Yao (injure), no McGrady (injured), looks like Artest is going to the Lakers (nothing is official with free agents until July 8th).

Overall, l think it is an upgrade. Artest is a much better offensive player & probably still a better on the ball defender than Ariza. Plus he is been doing it for years whereas Ariza just got hot in the playoffs. We got Artest for $5.6M per year - cheaper than Ariza is requested 7~8M per year.

That said, l do have some concerns over Artest keeping his focus when he is in LA. where there r much more distractions than Sacramento & Houston. Phil will have his work cut out for him. In a worst case scenario, Lamar & Ron together could turn Lakerland into space cadet academy.

Talent wise he is an upgrade but the question will be about chemistry with his new teammates. That being said, yes! LA will win another title or two and yes him and Kobe will get a along because Phil and Kobe can and will keep him focus on the grand prize. He gives them so much more toughness. l like the sign all the way. l will miss Ariza and hopefully he does well in Houston and l can see him getting a solid 15-18 points per game

l am Excited about Ron Artest as a Laker. l think Things just got easier on Kobe, now have 2 Lock down Defenders, with Artest being on the top player to take the defensive load off of Kobe. l am planning on going out & getting an Artest Jersey now that he will be with the lakers to add to my Collection.

BQ1. l had been worried with some of the additions other teams had made, but now with us adding Artest, l can easily see a 3peat

BQ2. l see him putting up about the same numbers he had with the lakers. so about 9pts a game, 4 rebounds a game, & 1-2 steals a game. However he wo not be as wide open as he was with the lakers, but he will be required to be more offensive, to some what fill Artests role there.

BQ3. From what l have read, there Freinds off the court. And l think with Kobe being the leader that he is, can keep Ron under control & Focused. Sure the Butted heads as opponents but, now that there on the same team, Look out. im Jacked.

Lakers all the way! Trevor is over rated..he is only good becuz everyone was guarding Kobe!
