If Kobe and Artest dont clash, then he will have a positive effect.

l think he wants 2 be on a great team so it will b good. l think the lakers had 2 make a big move becuase other teams were. He will bring toughness and make it hard to defend the lakers

I'd bet one year and out. l do not know the contract facts, but it seems weird. If him and Kobe do not get into a fist fight on the bench l will be surprised.of course, Kobe had to green light the deal for sure, so who knows. Artest is a good player and could contribute. All this shows is that the Laker is are serious about maintaining a championship calibur team.

He will bring them the same type of player Ariza was last season, but a bigger scoring threat. If he gets his temper under control, this could be a scary team.

While l think a lot of people bring up potential chemistry issues & try to bring up the past- suggesting that Kobe & Artest ''hate each other''.

i think we have to remember that Ron Artest is giving up a lot to join the Lakers:

He is giving up money on the table - he can definitely get more than the mid-level exception.

He is giving up the opportunity to be the ''man''. If Artest really wants to be the man he would not come to L.A. he would stay in Houston where he could get all the shots he wanted with McGrady & Yao hurt & he really would be the superstar on the team (so all those who suggest he will try to ''steal that from Kobe'' make a mute point.

Thirdly he is giving up the opportunity to play for the one coach he enjoys playing for more than anyone else which is Rick Adelman.

So being that Artest is willing to give up so much- he will be a good teammate. Moreover, Artest is problem have never really been on the court- he is a very heady basketball player. He gives the Lakers a bit more than Ariza in that he is a better defender- he can knock down the open 3 like Ariza & he gives the Lakers a toughness that they've lacked the last two seasons.

With Artest bringing his toughness into the Laker fold, the Lakers will be a tough team to beat. In Artest, the Lakers now have a legit defender to hound opposing teams' scorers.

If Artest melds well with the Laker system, the franchise is on to its 16th NBA championship.

The addition of Artest makes the Lakers a potent team both on the offensive as well as on the defensive end. The fact that Bynum has yet to play his A1 game makes the Lakers even more potent.

This will be a great year for the Lakers.

Can be upgrade or can be trouble ......i do not know .
