shaq did guarentee a championship in PHX. its called ''Shaq Being Shaq'' He speaks too much, for what he can promise. The problem is they first got rid of Marion, then Bell, & got Shaq. Marion fit the system, Bell could guard Kobe ( l am a Laker fan, but it is my honest opinion) & most importantly. Mike D'Antoni. The second they got rid of Mike, they would not win. His offense was perfect for the team. Shaq is too old, he wasnt quick enough for the Suns. He just slowed them down.

Well, every team he goes to, he always guarantees a championship before he veen plays for the team. Except of course, for Orlando (he is still a rookie at that time). Since he made good of his promise in Miami, he always though he could do that. It is not entirely his fault that Pheonix did not win a ring in the season that he guaranteed he will but he should not make guarantees like that. That is arrogance & overconfidence in his part. He should have just said, he promises to do his best for Pheonix for them to win the championship.

Well he did not deliver! As entertaining as Shaq is - he has always over-estimated his own value & that has been his downfall. While with L.A. when confronted about his one achilles heel (free throw shooting) '' l make them when they count.''

When the Lakers asked him to get in shape (when he was asking for a 7yr extension) - he dunks & tells Jerry Buss ''Pay me mother.'' & then proceeds to lose 50 lbs when he goes to Miami (something that actually could have saved his career) & one of the reasons the Lakers did not want to commit seven years to someone who was constantly out of shape.

He is going to go down as one of the all-time greats- & l really think that if he was a bit humbler & took improving his game a little bit more seriously he may have gone down as one of the greatest of all-time.
